15mm anti-twist rope

The anti-torsion cable is the link between the two elements of a furler: the swivel and the drum.
In a perfect world, the anti-torsion cable should transmit the furling forces from the bottom to the top (1 drum rotation = 1 swivel rotation).
These cables are usually supplied with gennakers or Code 0 sails (in the luff) but are essential for asymmetrical spinnakers when sailing offshore.

An anti-torsion rope has a certain elasticity. This information is provided by each rope manufacturer. The elasticity of the Marlow Pro Drive is 1.6% (1.6 meters for 100 meters, or approximately 25 cm for 15 meters) when subjected to its medium working load. Always take this into account when calculating the length to avoid a situation where you can no longer apply tension (swivel hitting the mast).

Most anti-torsion ropes are impossible to splice. The most common methods for attaching thimbles to these ropes are: end-to-end stitching, the use of clamps (Colligo, for example, with Karver aluminum thimbles) or the use of Karver KRE clamps, which are perfectly suited to KF furlers equipped with the KTS option.
